After images of several models from Sony Ericsson's upcoming range were leaked during the CES press weekend, we now have images of their latest candybar CyberShot phone, due for announcement at 3GSM in Barcelona next month. The as-yet unnamed handset has prompted some range discussion, with K780i, K830i and K870i all being suggested as possible model numbering; what is known is ...

LG's charming 5-megapixel-toting Viewty cellphone (which we first saw back at IFA 2007 and promptly shot six-tonnes of video of it) has apparently sold a healthy 550,000 units, and so to celebrate they're launching a different colour variant. Called "Dark Silver" - because "titanium" is obviously too common - the new version keeps the 3-inch touchscreen, UI borrowed from the PRADA ...

One for the fashion- and budget-conscious UK readers among you: Sagem have launched the my511x, a classically handsome candybar-format cellphone on the Orange pre-pay network that, despite looking relatively attractive replete with its "mirror-like" black front-panel and flat buttons, is priced at just £49.99 ($98) with of course no contract.

If you've been tempted by AT&T's commercials (what, really?) but have neither the cash nor the inclination to pick up a new cellphone, then you'll be pleased to hear that the network formerly known as Cingular is now offering a SIM-only deal for users content with their existing handset.

Motorola's Z10 kick-sliding media cellphone might have impressed Vincent, but it also had the arguably tougher challenge of passing through the FCC and getting US approval. Thankfully, our US wireless overlords appear to have had no beef with the 3.2-megapixel camera-toting, HSDPA-wielding handset, and it's free to flaunt itself on AT&T and/or T-Mobile.

When asked whether he believed the open-source OS would save Google from being "left behind" in the age of the mobile internet-enabled device, Jobs appeared to gently chide ...

While many commentators have focused on Android's potential for upsetting the balance of Windows Mobile, Palm and BlackBerry handsets in Europe and the US, the platform - backed by Google and the numerous other members of the Open Handset Alliance - is turning heads among Asia's cellphone developers with its potential to bring new, internet-enabled functionality to emerging markets. Analyst Aloysius ...

Helio's Mysto - which we looked at here - might have gone on "limited" release last December, but it was certainly difficult to find: in the two stores that stocked it, you needed to specifically request the slim, mirror-fronted handset. Now, however, our friends at Helio tell us that the cellphone - based on Samsung's U600 - has been fully released, ...

Today's touchscreen marvel is LG's KF600, which has two displays - a normal one up top and a contextual touchscreen underneath it - as well as a slide-out numeric pad. It's similar, indeed, to the LG Venus, launched on Verizon Wireless last year, but the KF600 is shipping in China, Mexico and Brazil and Turkey this month, then Asia and, apparently, the rest of ...

Over at SlashGear we've been livecasting the Macworld 08 Keynote - and salivating ever so slightly at the new MacBook Air, even though it doesn't have any kind of built-in cellular broadband - but the biggest mobile news from Apple is the 1.1.3 update for the iPhone has been officially released. Available now through iTunes, the firmware upgrade adds multiple-recipient ...
