Atlanta-based Cox Communications, the third largest cable provider in the United States, has announced plans to launch its own cellular network. The development seems to have been a long time coming.

Cox Communications looks set to be the next wireless telco in the US, after unveiling plans to consolidate their current cable media offerings into a mobile device and accompanying service.
