Sony Ericsson has decided to come out with another color for their W580i. If you are unfamiliar with the Walkman, back in January they managed to get a pink style and in March a dark green.

Motorola has just announced that they will be releasing the MOTOZINE ZN5 phone, which despite being a fairly simplistic phone looks a bit more chic than the competition. Even better the phone will be featuring not only a 5MP camera but auto-focus as well.

T-Mobile has made good on their promise to get 3G up and running by this summer. Yesterday, in New York City, the first reports of the service were given. More details have emerged about RIM's first flip BlackBerry, the KickStart, and it seems to be something of a mixed bag. This time shown with T-Mobile branding, the handset is quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE - sadly no 3G - has a 2-megapixel camera and WiFi b/g. According to BGR, while not confirmed the estimated release date is September.

Not sure why we didn't spot this last week, but TechOn are reporting that Japanese manufacturer Aiphone Co Ltd have come to an agreement with Apple regarding use of the iPhone name in Japan. While the two words may be spelt differently in English, apparently the Japanese rendering for each is the same; Aiphone Co Ltd hold the trademarks for "Aiphone" ...

Recently released FCC approval documents have confirmed the existence of LG's latest Viewty cellphone; however unlike the existing KU990 handset, which has 3G HSDPA along with its lauded 5-megapixel camera, the new KE990 will have merely dualband (850/900) GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity. Three versions of the cut-down cameraphone will be made, differentiated by their suffix: the KE990, the KE990c and the KE990d.

If you can't make a cellphone eco-friendly, you can still make it green. Sony Ericsson have sent their W580i Walkman slider off for a lick of new paint, and come back with the Jungle Green version. No increased eco-cred here, just the same quadband GSM, EDGE data connection, 240 x 320 display and shake-to-shuffle motion control.

Hard to believe it but Vertu - maker of precious-metal-clad cellphones with ridiculous price-tags - have managed to survive for ten whole years, and to celebrate they've created limited editions of their Constellation range. Named the Monogram collection, after the Vertu V-embossed leather back, the handset will be available in five colours: Pewter, Green, Red, Skye Blue or Cerise.
