We started out the week with a bang here on PhoneMag, with rumors flying that the Blackberry Enterprise Server isn't as secure as once thought. It seems hackers can attack individuals by means of maliciously coded PDFs. Then we learned that E Ink is being used on Casio and HItachi phones for lightweight, artistic look.
Verizon's Q2 results were impressive, showing ...

The nuvifone by Garmin has been long-awaited and though it's set to feature great features like GPS, it's not going to be released to consumers in 2009. Considering this phone will also have 3G, it was prepped and primed to competed directly with the iPhone 3G. But now with a release date coming at least six months after the iPhone's ...

There is yet another rumor floating around, this time its that there might be a different color for the Garmin Nuvifone. Navigadget has reported that a reader sent a couple pictures of the Nuvifone in the pretty white shown here. The photos could have been photoshopped, there is no real way to confirm as of now. The phone is scheduled ...

Garmin appear to have let slip pricing for the upcoming nuvifone on AT&T. According to an online survey, gauging customer interest in the combination GPS/HSDPA/touchscreen handset, AT&T are considering a price of $499.99 with a two-year contract, together with a mandatory $19.99 unlimited data & navigation plan and a standard voice tariff. Considering the cheapest voice plan on offer is $39.99 ...

After last week's price war, all breath was suitably baited this week for Sprint's answer to the multiple $99.99 "unlimited talk" plans its rivals offered. And despite disappointed suspicions that the beleaguered CDMA carrier would throw caution to the wind with a $60 offering, in actual fact their Simply Everything plan - which includes talk, messaging, data, internet access, Sprint ...

It seems Garmin may have to use their GPS expertise to navigate the courts, as business PBX company Nuvio have filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against them over the name of their upcoming nuvifone. According to Nuvio, not only has Garmin overstepped their trademark but they did so knowingly; they claim negotiations took place to reach a "mutually satisfactory resolution" ...

The Mobile World Congress in Barcelona has unsurprisingly been the star event of this week, featuring the mixture of new product launches, corporate jostling and PR whimsy that we all know and love. For us here at PHONE Magazine, it's been a week of exclusive video demos, and we hope you've been as excited as we were by the first ...

If there was one phone Vincent was particularly looking forward to seeing at the Mobile World Congress, it's Garmin's nuvifone. Remember, this is the handset that takes Garmin's GPS sat-nav know-how and slaps it into a 3.5-inch touchscreen fronted HSDPA smartphone, complete with WiFi and an OS described as "effortless". Well, he's got his wish - we'll have hands-on video ...

Garmin paints a vivid picture as to how their new nuvifone can help improve our lives in different scenarios. It’s simply brilliant, and if I may say so, toping some of Apples ads. The nuvifone scenario video shows a wife name Suzi, the husband John and a music lover name Joey going about they put the nuvifone to ...

The financial unveiling continued apace this past week, with both carriers and handset manufacturers announcing Q4 2007 - and, in some cases, whole year - performance figures. Unlike the week prior, however, it's been a mixed bag of the record-breaking and the depressing: Verizon Wireless showed revenue up 13% (though a $1bn class-action suit over disputed early-termination fees soured ...
