AT&T gave a press release today that stated they had upgraded their 3G network to provide higher speeds. One look at the new speeds they give though, reveals that in reality no network upgrades have taken place. Many people in the U.S. are currently enjoying AT&T's HSPA network. Huawei, who supply Vodafone UK with their 3G modems, have announced a combination HSDPA/HSUPA USB modem and digital TV receiver. The E510 promises download speeds of up to 7.2Mbps and upload speeds of up to 2Mbps, network depending.

Kevin Choi from AVING spent some time at the MWC playing with Novatel's new MC950D HSDPA/HSUPA USB modem, and you can see the video of it after the cut. The Ovation MC950D offers triband 850/1900/2100MHz HSUPA/HSDPA/UMTS and quadband 850/900/1800/1900MHz GPRS/EDGE, with data speeds of up to 7.2Mbps downlink and 2.1Mbps uplink (network depending, naturally).

AT&T have announced a duo of HSUPA data cards, the GT Ultra and GT Ultra Express, both being triband UMTS/HSPA (850/1900/2100 MHz) and quadband GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) compatible.
