Cellular South is a smaller regional wireless carrier and has been vocal in its opposition to the practice of handset manufacturers giving the large wireless carriers exclusives with the most desired handsets. The company has been able to land its first Android device, the HTC Hero.

This has been a big week for HTC with the official unveiling of the much leaked Hero Android smartphone happening in London. That phone won’t be here in the States until later this year.
