Sony's mylo 2 WiFi communicator, which went on sale back in January, has received its first software update. Version 1.100 is available now from the Sony eSupport website, and adds support for WMV files, the SHOUTcast widget and slots a 'Games' option into the home menu. There are also a number of "system stability" improvements, though they are not specified.

Opera have announced availability of their Opera Mini 4.1 beta, the newest release from the browser company. Available in Java, Palm and BlackBerry versions, the browser is apparently 50-percent faster than previous versions while maintaining the same bookmark sync between different versions of the software on different platforms, portrait & landscape modes, and custom search shortcuts.

No offence to Ericsson, but having read about NTT DoCoMo's Super 3G trials and their incredible 250Mbps downloads yesterday, their 42Mbps downlink achieved with HSPA Evolution seems a bit mediocre.
