The numbers are in for Q3 2009 for the mobile phone industry and the most profitable handset maker was Apple with $1.6 billion in operating profits. The second place company was Nokia with $1.1 billion in operating profits.

If you are an AT&T customer and the iPhone just isn’t your thing, the carrier has a new handset that might pique your interest. AT&T put the HTC Tilt 2 up for sale at $299.99. I'm not sure if the thing will be better than an iPhone, but choices are certainly nice.
