Microsoft has patented an intelligent smartphone dock that could be used as a basic PC with full-size peripherals. Just dock your phone into this cradle, which would connect and integrate to a keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc.

Microsoft has beaten out Google and Yahoo for a search deal with mobile giant Verizon, Reuters reported. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer was set to unveil this as part of his CES keynote later Wednesday, according to Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg.

We just found out that there is not going to be any announcement of a “Zune phone†at CES in January. Brian Seitz, Group Manager of Zune said, "No Zune phone at CES." We recently heard of rumors from CNBC of a Zune phone that went by the name “Project Pink†and listed specifications and everything.

Two screenshots on the new Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system have surfaced. Steve Balmer, CEO of Microsoft, reportedly proudly unveiled these two screenshots to the world at PDC 2008. We won't be seeing this version on handsets until 2009.

Reports are saying that Microsoft is expecting Windows Mobile to grow by 50% in 2008 and 2009. It is expected that by the time the fiscal year for Microsoft closes in June, over 20 million Windows Mobile handsets will have been sold. In a press release by Microsoft, the news has got out that RIM and Microsoft have teamed up to provide Windows Live services to BlackBerry users. The main features that the partnership will bring are easy access to Windows Live Messenger, and better integration of Windows Live Hotmail on the BlackBerry platform.
