Developers working with Nokia's Maemo have some good news today from Nokia with the announcement that it has created an official Qt port for Maemo 5 that allows devs to use Qt to target the coming N900. The Qt port allows for applications to be easily ported to all Qt's supported platforms.

If you are on AT&T and have been hoping for a version of the N900 form Nokia compatible with your network to be announced, it looks like that won’t happen. There were wide reports that Nokia had said it would announce an AT&T compatible version.

Nokia is getting set to try to fight back against its eroding market share at the hands of Apple and RIM with new devices running Linux derived Maemo. The first Maemo device to debut from Nokia will be the high-end N900.
