Opera Mini grows, on over 20 million devices in Russia and others

Norwegian Web browser developer Opera reports that their Java based Opera Mini mobile phone browser is in use by over 20 million phones in Russia and the CIS, showing a 160% growth since February of 2008.  Use of the mobile browser also grew 290% to 7.3 billion page views. Speculation on Opera partnership w/ carriers proves false

There was some speculation by Forbes earlier that the browser maker Opera might partner up with carriers to offer Opera Mini on new wireless devices.  According to Forbes, there would have been an official announcement at the CTIA Wireless conference coming up in April.
