The long awaited Samsung Glyde for Verizon is finally getting official today. We have known about this thing for so long, and the fact that we are finally seeing it is very exciting. The device was rumored to launch on May 9th, but you are not going to see me complaining about an early launch of such a sweet phone.

Samsung have announced their latest Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone, the SGH-i200, though from the look of it you'd probably think it was a typical candybar. Measuring just 11.8mm thick, the triband GSM (900/1800/1900) handset has 3.6Mbps HSDPA (2100MHz), a 2.3-inch QVGA display and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. It's one of Samsung's first handsets to use the freshly updated Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard OS.

As was expected, AT&T's Mobile TV service went live on Sunday. The service is now live in 58 markets, and is expanding. The technology is Qualcomm's MediaFLO, which runs on the 700MHz spectrum. The Samsung Glyde for Verizon is no doubt a hot phone. It has all the features of very high priced offerings, and it's roots are from the F700, a high end Vodafone exclusive across the pond. So when this phone is put in the same sentence as the word 'free', you can bet a few heads turn.
