There has been a bit of talk here and there about the possibility of a PSP branded phone. Thus far there hasn't been a whole lot of official word coming from Sony on the subject, however, Marketing Week has a little bit of insight on the subject.

Sony's mylo 2 WiFi communicator, which went on sale back in January, has received its first software update. Version 1.100 is available now from the Sony eSupport website, and adds support for WMV files, the SHOUTcast widget and slots a 'Games' option into the home menu. There are also a number of "system stability" improvements, though they are not specified.

A recent patent application by Sony Ericsson documents what could be the basis of the well-rumored PSP Phone which even the official Sony magazine has suggested is in development. The XPERIA X1 is one hot potato phone, and if Sony Ericsson is tossing it state side, I’m willing to bet the farm that AT&T will catch and run with it. I wonder how well the X1 will do against the iPhone.

Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1 made a discrete appearance at CeBIT today, but it's accompanying minder was tight-lipped on the suspected shipping delay. All he would say is that "it's still developing" and that they couldn't comment on any rumors. As such, we'll have to make do with these hands-on images of the handset from the show floor.

A PSP-style gaming cellphone from Sony is one of those perennial rumors you generally see rolled-out in naff "the year ahead" prediction features, but this time around it's Sony Magazine itself that's dropping hints about the manufacturer's mobile plans. According to the article, the "PSP-Style Phone" could be in shops as early as February.

If you were looking for that one really clear video that shows off how the XPERIA X1 moves and how the Panels work, this is it. Other than a lot of paper airplanes flying around and some decent music, this is a great commercial for those that wanted to see more of the X1.
