This week saw the introduction of a new age to come in Windows Mobile devices. At the May 6th event held by HTC in London, we saw the HTC Diamond in action. Phone Mag provided you with a hands on gallery, a hands on video, and a tour of it's new 3D TouchFLO interface. The device will begin it's availability ...

Up until now, all we have seen of Sony Ericsson's upcoming Paris P5 device are grainy, blurry spy shots. Though we are still not up to press quality photos, these new shots are pretty nice, and should hold us over for a while at least.

Mobile software retailer Handango has seemingly confirmed that the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 smartphone will be released in mid-September this year. The news came as part of Handango's regular 'Content Partner' newsletter, in a section requesting that developers submit applications suitable for the X1's 800 x 480 touchscreen display. It also confirms that the distributor's own InHand software - which ...

Regular readers will know we're pretty excited about the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 here at PHONE Magazine. So I'm jealous as anything that Kornel from UMPC Portal got to spend some brief but quality time with the X1 recently. The first handset from the company to run Windows Mobile 6.1, Kornel's was only a prototype - and as such lacked ...

Sony Ericsson has just released their earnings report for Q1 2008, and while the company spin is that it's been positive the figures themselves suggest an organisation with little movement. Reporting 2% growth over last year, handset sales were actually down and operating income almost half what it was in Q1 2007. Sony Ericsson counters with the fact that their ...

Sony Ericsson's BeiBei may have an unusual codename, but the rest of the handset looks mighty tempting. A slim candybar running the new UIQ 3.3 OS, very few of the device's technical details are known. However the site that took these photos suggests that the device is still being tested, is yet to be officially named and will get a China ...

It's been blame, buy-outs and goodbyes this week, as the great & good (as well as the not-so-great) reshuffle in an increasingly competitive mobile market. Microsoft's finalising of their Danger deal ended with the software giant declaring they'd make Windows Mobile "fun", words even less comfortable with each other than Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston locked in a bathysphere. Meanwhile ...

Sony Ericsson's latest touchscreen cellphone, the G700, has cleared the FCC, maintaining the company's intention to release the handset in Q2 2008. The GSM device, announced at the Mobile World Congress earlier this year, is intended as a "broad appeal" device introducing non-business users to the benefits of a touchscreen interface. As a result, as well as hardware buttons there's a ...

Post CTIA Wireless and the news came, not thick and fast, but in dribs and drabs. Leaks from Sony Ericsson came first, with images of the P5 'Paris' handset dripping out one at a time - seemingly in the hope of creating a big stir for a device not quite as thrilling as the XPERIA X1 - closely followed by ...
