Verizon announced today that it was offering the Mobil Remote service for FiOS users on the Motorola DROID and HTC Imagio. The app lets you have full control over DVR functionality.

The Sony Ericsson Aspen mobile phone that we heard about the other day has turned up in a preview ahead of its official launch. The keyboard draws gripes for being too slippery but the device is said to be comfortable in the hands.

Nokia has talked about its plans for this year and early 2011. This year will see Symbian^3 handsets and in early 2011 Symbian^4 devices are said to be debuting.

Alltel customers that have been wishing for a new smartphone will be happy to hear a new Blackberry has hit the network. Alltel is now offering the Curve 8530 for $49.99 after a $100 rebate and a new contract.

The Sony Ericsson Kuara is a nice handset but SlashGear figures that the handset will live or die by its price. If the device wells for around $450 it should do well, if the device is closer to $600 the device is doomed.

Reports came in this week that had Nokia moving mostly away from Symbian for its high-end N-series devices by 2012. Nokia has now come out and denounced that as premature. Nokia says that it remains firmly attached to Symbian.

Sony Ericsson isn't well known for selling sexy handsets that lure new customers in droves to the mobile providers offering the devices. The company is well known though for offering up decent music phones and camera phones with lots of megapixels.
