Ericsson HSPA Evolution: 42Mbps mobile downloads possible this year

No offence to Ericsson, but having read about NTT DoCoMo's Super 3G trials and their incredible 250Mbps downloads yesterday, their 42Mbps downlink achieved with HSPA Evolution seems a bit mediocre.  Of course, after a quick reality check it's obviously a significant improvement on the current 7.2Mbps top speed of current HSDPA networks, and the fact that Ericsson are claiming the upgrade ... continued »

NTT DoCoMo Super 3G (LTE) trials show 250Mbps downloads

Just when you thought the 7.2Mbps downlink speeds of HSDPA (which are usually only available in limited number of urban areas) was impressive, NTT DoCoMo have revealed that they've recorded a 250Mbps downlink using the new Super 3G technology they've been trialing in Yokosuka, Japan since February.  Super 3G, which is also known as LTE (Long Term Evolution), has been in theory ... continued »
