It went live in some areas at the end of last week, and now T-Mobile have officially confirmed it: 3G HSDPA has been switched on across New York City. Finally laying to rest earlier rumors that the network would, initially, be voice-only, the carrier has confirmed that both voice and high-speed data will be available to those with compatible handsets. After ...

More details have emerged about RIM's first flip BlackBerry, the KickStart, and it seems to be something of a mixed bag. This time shown with T-Mobile branding, the handset is quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE - sadly no 3G - has a 2-megapixel camera and WiFi b/g. According to BGR, while not confirmed the estimated release date is September.

T-Mobile is offering a new option for its prepaid customers. This new plan allows customers to pay $1 a day and get all the benefits of a post-paid contract. The offering is very similar to the GoPhone option that AT&T provides. Basically, for $1 a day, you get unlimited nights and weekends and calls to other T-Mobile customers. All other ...

Things have been relatively quiet in the Sidekick range since the launch of the Slide and the LX last year, but we now have word that the latest version of the popular messaging handset will be a 'Scarlet' Slide. Functionally identical to the original Slide - i.e. with a pop-up screen, full QWERTY keyboard, trackball and IM clients - the ...

Whether you think EV-DO Rev.A wipes the floor with HSDPA or vice versa, one thing most people can agree on is that high-speed cellular data access is A Good Thing. That's why T-Mobile USA's lack of a 3G network has been such an embarrassment for the carrier. Now, according to TmoNews, they're planning an imminent roll-out of their UMTS system, ...

I must admit that the Shadow 2 looks sleek and sexy. At this point, there's zilch info regarding specifications and what not, but from what I can tell looking at the spy shot, it's almost the same as the first Shadow. You might notice that there are new rounded edges and a Nokia-like-N96 reflective finish.

T-Mobile's Wing WM6 smartphone has been described as hot stuff in reviews before now, but users should find a package in their mail soon that's intended to ensure the HTC-made handset doesn't get too hot. Apparently the Dynapack batteries supplied with some of the Wing handsets can - very rarely, T-Mobile assure us - overheat, likely causing damage to ears, ...
