TomTom and AT&T announced today that they have teamed up to provide connectivity for a new GPS unit. The GPS device is called the TomTom XL 340S Live and it integrates local search with other connected services in the mid-range for GPS devices.

One of the things that I like about the iPhone and its new OS is that you can use the device as a real and full featured GPS device. You can get all that stuff the high-end GPS units offer like live traffic and more. I particularly like the gas price feature that many GPS devices offer.

TomTom have announced a new traffic receiver that accesses the so-called High Definition congestion database via a built-in GPRS modem.
