Word has come in today according to a poster over at the Sprint forums that Sprint has blocked the use of smartphones as 3G modems after years of allowing the practice. One user is very angry and plans to sue Sprint over the issue.

With sales of smartphones and feature phones booming, it makes sense for wireless carriers to develop close relationships with OS developers and handset makers in order to get exclusive devices to sell on their networks. Verizon and Google announced a new agreement today that will result in the joint development of Android handsets.

Verizon Wireless customers are now the first mobile users to be able to get Rock Band Mobile from EA. The game allows users to choose from bass, drums, vocals, and guitar just like the real game. The Verizon offering is the first time Rock Band has come to mobile devices.
