Since the video demo of the HTC Touch Diamond was posted on Phone Mag, there has been numerous requests for a demo of the keyboard and SMS messaging interface. Our own Vincent has taken it upon himself to get this video demo of those two aspects of this device up and ready for your viewing pleasure.

There's no denying that HTC's Touch Diamond is going to be a real fingerprint-magnet, but the company doesn't expect us all to wear white cotton gloves when we carry the smartphone. Instead they're surprisingly proud of the Touch Diamond's slip-case. It's lined with a microfibre-style material that they claim will clean both sides of the handset whenever it's put in and ...

Vincent spent some time with HTC Chief Innovations Officer Horace Luke yesterday, and got an overview of the Touch Diamond's mobile internet capacity. Of course, being Vincent he had his video camera to hand, so we're sharing with you the highlights of the interview. HTC have drafted in the very capable Opera 9 browser, rather than wait for the upcoming ...

You've seen the photos, now for the video. Vincent grabbed some hands-on time with HTC's Touch Diamond after the presentation this morning, and shot some video of the smartphone in action. HTC have flooded their YouTube channel with new promo videos of the Touch Diamond. The footage demonstrates the new TouchFLO 3D GUI, which is a three-dimensional version of the original TouchFLO found on previous HTC smartphones. Regular readers will know we're pretty excited about the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 here at PHONE Magazine. So I'm jealous as anything that Kornel from UMPC Portal got to spend some brief but quality time with the X1 recently. The first handset from the company to run Windows Mobile 6.1, Kornel's was only a prototype - and as such lacked ...

While it might be easy to forget Nextel in the face of overwhelming iPhone, Instinct and Vu shaped competition, there are still legions of users enjoying push-to-talk with the carrier. Since Sprint bought the company out, they've been promising to deliver QChat: an upgrade to PTT that uses EV-DO Rev.A rather than the iDEN Direct Connect system currently in place. ...

If you're nowhere near one of the twelve pilot AT&T stores getting Microsoft's nifty Surface touchscreen-table, you may be left wondering what all the fuss is about. Neither AT&T nor Microsoft want that, so they'd like you to take a look at the Atlanta store, previewed in this video, and see how surprisingly bemused customers can be readily educated by earnest-looking salespeople.

Velocity Mobile's entrance into the Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone arena may have prompted some raised eyebrows and vague pessimism, but having seen Vincent's hands-on gallery and two video demos of the 111 (with keyboard) and 103 (with larger, VGA screen) I'm a lot keener to try the pair out for myself. It's hard to make an impact at a ...

Samsung's A827 Access for AT&T might not be as slick as its fellow Mobile TV-playing handset, LG's Vu, but considering the estimated price tag of $130 (with two-year contract and after a $50 rebate) you're getting plenty for your money. Vincent had a chance to play with the Access at CTIA Wireless, and came back with this video demo and image gallery (as ...
