The Windows Mobile development team announced via Twitter that Windows Mobile 6.5 is “done.” According to Mary Jo Foley, “done” means it has been released to manufacturing.

The dev team tweeted:
For the record, Windows Mobile 6.5 is DONE… complete… looks really good IOHO and every bit functional. ping us if u want to know more.
The first Windows Mobile 6.5 phones are expected this fall. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer discussed Windows Mobile 6.5 in February at the Mobile World Congress, telling that phones with the new software wouldn’t be available until the second half of the year.
