I have never traveled out of the U.S., other than to Mexico once on spring break, but at that time, you didn’t need anything to cross the border so it doesn’t count. Today when you travel globally, the average smartphone doesn’t cut it.

Verizon Wireless is getting a new phone on August 21 according to leaked documents called the Pantech Escapade. The phone isn’t a snazzy smartphone that most of us prefer, which is actually a feature for some.
The basic handset supports overseas GSM networks and has GPS and a 2MP camera. The device does feature Bluetooth and Internet access, but that is about it. this is like an easy to use global phone for grandma or the business user with a cheap boss.
