Verizon improves Cash Flow and Grows in Q2

The economy is bad and sales of all sorts of consumer electronics are down from notebooks to some mobile phone categories. Despite the reduction in sales of traditional phones, smartphones and feature phones are seeing robust sales.

Verizon has reported its financial information for Q2 2009 and it has added more than 1.1 million new wireless customers. The wireless giant reported 52 cents per share in EPS earnings and now boasts a 27.8% increase in wireless customers.

The total operating revenues for the company were $26.9 billion, an increase of 11.3%. Verizon reports a cash flow of $14.1 billion for the first six months of 2009, up 11.9% from the same period last year. Verizon also added 300,000 new FiOS TV customers and 303,000 new FiOS Internet customers.
