Opened last week, the store offers online music, over-the-air games and applications storefront. The Verizon Media Store is now open.


The store from Verizon Wireless already has more than 5 million available MP3 downloads in addition to already available ringtones. Available to any MP3 compatible device, including side-loading Verizon handsets customers are able to purchase and download music. Prices for the tracks vary from 69 cents to $1.29.

According to Verizon, the “vast majority” of its music catalog is without digital rights management (DRM) restrictions. Access to the store is free as long you are a customer with subscriptions to a data plan. Options to preview, sample, and purchase games and apps directly to their mobile WAP and HTML powered devices is available now.
