Verizon Wireless is stepping up to the plate when it comes to applications and now select cell phone models will gain access to three new apps that utilize the voice recording feature. You can either create content for yourself or share it with Verizon customers, but it’s nice to see them trying out a few new things.

Sonic Boom’s ToneMaker lets you create music by layering your own voice on top of pre-recorded songs. These creations can then be shared with your friends or used as a ringtone. ToneMaker costs $3.99 a month.

FunMobility’s YouTunes works much the same way, but you can combine user’s voices together to make ringtones or audio messages. This app costs $2.49 per clip you create.

Lastly, mSpot’s Make-Ur-Tones lets you make ringtones based on various clips you pick from their catalog of 250,000 music tracks. Created ringtones cost $2.49 a piece. You can get all of these apps on Verizon’s Get It Now phones.
