Even though Verizon’s entire network has been Rev. A capable since July 2007, the HTC Touch has somehow remained on the slower side with only rev.0. It baffles us to try to imagine why the Touch doesn’t come with Rev. A support for EV-Do.

Whatever the case may be there is a firmware update coming to the HTC Touch that will remedy the situation. This much needed update will not only give the Touch support for 3G but also update the outdated Windows Mobile 6 to 6.1. In addition the Touch will get Opera Mobile, Brighthand and GPS support as well. For those of you who are brave enough, Phonenews has managed to get their hands on the update, but who knows if it is stable or not.
