This financial recession may be hard on most of us, but that doesn’t seem to stop mobile phone companies from producing phones that are way over the price limit of most Americans. The Vertu Boucheron 150 just happens to be the most expensive phone we have seen yet.

Forget the Motorola Aura with its premium materials, the Vertu Boucheron 150 is crafted out of solid gold with around 1,000 man-hours to shape, 700 hours to hand polish it as well as 500 hours to built in. All of these processes are done completely by hand with no help from machines. Though the handset may appear like a crumpled Willy Wonka Golden Ticket, it was specifically designed to appear this way.

The keypad is made of sapphire crystal and the wooden case of Noce Pedullo walnut tree courtesy of Reuge from Switzerland. When you open the case you are greeted by the Vertu signature ringtone, we imagine it sounds like angels. So now the big questions everyone has been waiting for, how much does this handset cost? We regret to inform you that it’s retailing for around $30,000. Looks like there are a few kids not going to college.
