While it has been debated whether or not the Sidekick LX even supports video, it seems that video support is coming, and that argument can be put to bed. This image has proven that the Sidekick LX will have some sort of support for video playback. In addition to being able to play videos on the device, it will also be able to capture video.

Sidekick Video

It is not clear what video format the device will play. It could use the very popular h.264 codec, which would open up all sorts of online video possibilities. Like some devices however, it could use h.263. Like others, it may support both. While that screen shot proves it will gain video playback, this screen shot confirms video recording.

The best part about this news, is it is not too far off. Sidekick LX users can expect an over the air update to be coming in the not too distant future. More information such as video resolution and all the technical stuff was not mentioned. Still, it comes as great news indeed to the Sidekick fans among us.
