If there is one thing that is similar among phone plans no matter what side of the pond you are on, it’s that data plans are expensive. We have all heard the horror stories of customers unwittingly racking up phone bills in the thousands of dollar range while downloading content on their mobile devices while roaming.

Vodafone is offering free internet access on Friday August 28 from 12.01 am to 23.59am. The normal day rate for internet access is 50p. With the free service for the day, the users can check email and surf the Internet.

Vodafone says that the free access is to help users plan their bank holiday by checking the weather and getting friends together on Facebook. The most shocking part of this to me is that people in the UK get bank holidays off.
