Makayama is also known for their Camera PRO app for the iPhone, informed me last night that they’ve released a new application called Voice Dial for jailbroken iPhone. It allows you to record voice samples for any and all contacts in your address books then recall them simply speaking the name. Other cool features include tagging actions like starting email application or launching web pages via Safari bookmarks, and as well as some Google Mapping with your voice. It’s a big shame that this feature is missing from the iPhone. Activating voice dialing is as simple as pressing the home button twice. It’s as easy as saying, “John Smith” or “Mail”.

It’s well worth $33 if find this feature an absolute must have. Makayama is donating three licenses to PHONE Magazine visitors. All you need to do to win is write the most creative thank you note to Makayama in the comment field – and I’ll pick the top three as winners. Yes, whether you win or not is solely based on ME picking you as the winner. All decisions are final.

Thanks so much for this fabulous app. I would love having the capability of voice dialing as it is a feature that the Iphone is missing desperately… Thanks for all your hard work and dedication, your programs never yet have ceased to amaze me. Thank you!

Thanks so much for this wonderful feature that should have come with the Iphone from the beginning…!
Dear Makayama,
Thank you for developing a fantastic product. I recently downloaded the demo version of Voicedial for Iphone, and was pleasantly surprised how well it worked. I definately could use this application, especially when driving in my car. I bought my Iphone about 6 weeks ago, and was dumbstruck to learn that the Iphone did not have voice dial. It’s an application that is on nearly every other cell phone, and one that I now find essential as I do quite a bit of driving. I have been searching in vain, until today, for a voice dial application, especially in the last two weeks. Two weeks ago, I nearly hit a tree while driving when searching for my friend’s phone number.
Your application is not just one of convenience, it is one that saves frustration, fender benders, and yes, even lives. That is not a hyberbole, Makayama. You are a life saver, and for that, I thank you.

Makayama,
It is without hesitation that I deem to you my up most thanks for the multitudinous task of creating such an outstanding program for the Apple iPhone. Being a music teacher, musician and choir director, I travel immensely and I’m in constant use of my phone while driving. I have a very convenient holster to keep my iPhone secure and I use the Griffin Universal FM transmitter to talk hands-free but I still have to glance at it in order to get to my contacts and make a call, therefore putting myself or others at risk of being in an accident.
With your your highly regarded product, I can finally do what I’ve been doing with my previous loved phone, the Treo 650, and make voice activated calls without having to take my eyes off of the road as I drive. iPhone owners are basking in glory because of the invention of this software, especially those in the business world. I’m reading over the net on the success of your product and you deserve all of the praise that people are saying about it.
I am sure to buy other software that you create because I know any one of them will be beneficial in the productivity of the iPhone. May you enjoy much success in the distribution of this product. Your name shall be ubiquitous among iPhone users now and into the future. Thank you, again
Thank you one milion times. I’m waiting for this app like for redemption. This app will change my whole life.
Endeless thanks to Makayama.
I just want to say one thing: Thank you!
Frank
Thank You. Now I will buy an iPhone. (and Steve J and Scott Bourne thank you as well)

In my clumsy way I tested the demo program “voicedial” on my new iphone. It identified applications well but I could not figure out how to dial a phone number with it. I am about to purchase the full version. Does it come with instructions? We seniors definitly need instructions!
Will installing this software make my i phone work with voice activation in my prius navigation system?
Thanks a lot, this freature is very usefull for cellphone with touch screen
