Father’s Day is almost here and dad could probably use a new cell phone, especially if he is like my dad and still uses a cell phone from five years ago. You don’t even have to drive yourself down to the official store for your preferred provider; you can get dad a new phone at Walmart along with your bread and toilet paper.

Walmart has announced that it is offering the new Palm Pre for $199 without a mail-in rebate. The retail giant isn’t the first place to offer the $199 price without a rebate; Best Buy offers that price as well.

Walmart is the largest retailer in the world and more and more people are buying electronics at Walmart. The only downside is that Walmart employees frequently have no clue about electronics, but the same thing could be said of employees at Best Buy or any other electronics store.
