LG Electronics India Private Ltd (LGEIL) plans to launch 20 or so new cellular phones in 2008. I’m not how many of those 20 new handsets will hit the US market. So anyways, the company wants to triple its business in the GSM section with a goal of pushing four million handsets by the end of 2008.

LG currently have nine models in the GSM category so the additional 20 handsets will bring them to 25-28 by end of 2008. The company is also aiming to raise sales by 30% in the premium segment in 2008, up from 20-22 percent. Should everything go as planned, LG will hit an earning figure of $4-billion USD through the new aggressive marketing and expansion.
