Their first WiFi enabled phone, the WPP-8000 has been announced by Pantech. If the model is successful, the company is likely to release similar devices in the future.

The WPP-8000 was launched via LG Dacom. The high-speed internet, voice and data service provider is one of South Korea’s biggest. This model is certainly not a ‘regular’ phone when compared with GSM or CDMA models. With this too, it has a few things you do not normally get for free.
The phone uses the providers myLG070 service which allows users to access the Web via a wireless LAN connection or iHub. Through this, they are able to get all the news, stock information or weather updates they require. All this without extra data charges. The WPP-8000 also supports text messaging and Caller ID. A simple phone in some regards, although powerful in it’s own right.
