WSJ Review of Touch Diamond Knocks WM6 more than phone itself

The Wallstreet Journal has reviewed the HTC Touch Diamond from Sprint and something especially notable is just how focused the criticisms are on the software’s inability to mask the all the flaws of Windows Mobile.

There were several positives mentioned regarding the device such as the nice-looking TouchFLO 3D software, the attractive touch screen and the well-designed animations. However, the Touch Diamond software constantly directs to the same old Windows Mobile menus and options, which are seen as less than attractive and not nearly as functional.

The G-Sensor, the Diamond’s accelerometer is effective when it works, but it has a tendency to stick and not flip at all on some webpages. When you get right down to it, the slick design just can’t make up for a less than stellar operating system.

I think that whoever did this review must be Palm OS person. WM6 is the most versatile phone OS I have seen yet.
