Many mobile phone users prefer pre-paid services to services where you have to sign a contract and be tied to one provider for at least two years. There are a number of pre-paid providers on the market for consumers to choose from and today that number has increased by one.

Zer01 Mobile was first announced at the CTIA Wireless Conference in Las Vegas this year and has now officially launched nationwide. The new service offers users unlimited voice, data, and mobile web access for one low monthly fee.

The company has created interconnect agreements across the country and around the globe allowing for a plan that has one price with fees and taxes included. The only catch I see is that the monthly price for the service isn’t specified.

Have you actually checked about this so called “launch”? As of July 1, 2009 the announced release date, there wasn’t one dealer who had their hands on the phones that prototype Zer01 mvno/partner were supposed to have out there. No sims, no phones, no NOTHING.

Only a “Will release to the public in Mid August” after a few days of them playing headless chicken.

Supposedly they are rolling out to the distributors now so they can figure out how to use the damn things. If they exist.

On top of that, Zer01 is only offering its services as an mvno setup company, NOT directly to the public as they originally announced (and changed). Check your facts and update before firing off a story done with outdated materials.

  2. It takes some time to launch a company of this dimension. This is a structured roll out and as I understand it, will be available to the public summer 2009. I am impressed that Zer01 is taking the time to make sure their distributors are educated on the product and the service before going to the public. I believe this is the phone plan everyone is going to want. Very exciting stuff!
